The Year 7 Baseline Assessment Listening Test 2, from Musical Contexts, provides a means of obtaining data regarding Critical Engagement: Listening and Appraising and Music Knowledge at the start of Year 7.
 
The resource package contains a Pupil Answer Booklet, Teacher Mark Scheme (including detailed mark scheme for question 6 - listening to a piece of film music), an MP4 video file (required for the administration of the test) with full audio transcript, an optional marks, levels and progress grade supplement and pupil reflection.
 
The test contains a variety of questions including Listening to Music from different times and places, Rhythmic and Melodic Pitch Dictation, Listening to Music based on Repeated Musical Patterns and Listening to a piece of Film Music.  
 
The test is marked out of 56 marks and can be completed with a one-hour music lesson.
