This HUGE resource is formed of a single combined Study Guide and a Revision Guide to support the OCR GCSE Music (9-1) Area of Study 3 - Rhythms of the World.

Packed full of key facts and musical knowledge relating to Indian Classical Music, Punjabi Bhangra, Eastern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern and Arabic Folk Rhythms, African Drumming, Calypso and Steel Band and Samba, the Study and Revision Guide contains a careful mix of text, diagrams, illustrations and images.

Pupils can look back and revise their musical knowledge at various points with PIT STOP question prompts and there are links to further watching and listening via YouTube®.

Included in the resource are two listening quizzes, complete with MP3 audio files, teachers notes and answers based on music from across the Area of Study.

At the end of each the resource, there's a Revision Chart consolidating musical knowledge of the different world music genres and an A-Z of Key Words relating to the Area of Study, which pupils can 'RAG RATE' to clarify their understanding.

This would make an ideal revision resource for Year 11's preparing for their Listening Examination.  Parts of the resource could also be set as GCSE Music cover work.

Each resource is available in PDF and customisable and editable Word formats.
